Wigwam provide glamping holidays in the great outdoors, with over 80 stunning locations in the UK this is one company that wanted to provide all their guests everything they could possibly want whilst on holiday.

A small but essential part of that was a map of the immediate vicinity of the locations, so they contacted us for a locator map for their guests to help them explore the local area, showing footpaths and nearest pubs – all the points of interest you need whilst on holiday. This is a really simple giveaway that can enhance any user experience of your hospitality.

Ufford Park Woodbridge contacted OXC as they wanted a map to promote their local food suppliers.

Their chefs place great emphasis on quality local ingredients and as they say;

“With all the culinary specialities of Suffolk right here on our doorstep, and hundreds of farmers and suppliers for our chefs to choose from, why wouldn’t we love local.”

We created a fun map with images of the food they purchase and showing the locality of their chosen food suppliers across 3 counties, Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex which was to be used at a range of sizes and also included on their website.

The map has been created to easily update for future suppliers that are chosen to work with Ufford Park.

Travel Maps produce a free map of London which is distributed at airports, hotels & tourist information centres, aiming to provide their guests with the tools to easily navigate and experience London, adding value to their stay.

Travel Maps were not only looking to produce a customised map, but also have the ability to design the map with advertising space on the reverse which would help to fund the project.

Oxford Cartographers spent time with Travel Maps looking at design elements and offering advice on how to produce the map. The time spent perfecting the design at the early stage of the project has resulted in the map being reprinted time and time again.

Travel Maps now print in excess of 250,000 copies per year.

This was a great project to work on to aid community engagement around Newbury Racecourse.

The area around the racecourse has gone through a massive transformation in the last few years, with a new housing development wrapping around the racecourse. This caused a few safety concerns, with the local residents walking dogs, or simply entering restricted areas where large agricultural machinery was in use, or simply the area was very busy because of a race day or wedding.

The developers decided to provide a location map designed to help both residents and prospective residents know which areas of the Racecourse estate are available for recreational purposes, as well as provide a handy guide to the surrounding area, whilst trying to keep everybody safe and the Racecourse and surrounding businesses working.

The project call for an A2 folded customised map to show locals where they can and cannot walk their dogs, and also access public footpaths.

In addition other features were also required to help local residents get a feel for what is on their doorstep. The map also needed to show bus routes and proposed bus routes, cycle routes, canal walks, dog walking routes, public rights of way, out of bounds areas and also key features off the map edge with arrows and names.

The map also shows proposed new housing developments, and on the reverse was an opportunity for the local businesses to advertise their services too!

We created a set of 6 illustrations to make the custom map more fun and engaging for the user; so as part of the sales and welcome pack, all the residents now receive the  “Welcome to Newbury Racecourse” Location Map helping to make sure that its a vibrant and safe place for all.

Live Travel & Tours needed help. They had been let down by another supplier and with an exhibition taking place the following week they were in a spot of bother.

They needed a folded wall map for the exhibition and

Riverview Inn is a casual, upscale dining experience with a spectacular view of the sunset on the Delaware River, its been a landmark in the area for over 100 years.

As part of their giveaways to their clientele they wanted a promotional map that defined particular points of interest for local visitors and provided a clear representation of the the town of Pennsville.
